Unique Project Delivery

HOK’s headquarters project required a polished, well designed space emblematic of their design philosophy. Structure Tone entered into an integrated project delivery (IPD) contract with HOK and the unique team structure ensured the design and construction were performed seamlessly.

The building information modeling (BIM) coordination phase addressed any issues with design and construction before work started. We worked with the entire team to coordinate the project in a 3D model. This BIM coordination process resolved discrepancies ahead of time and avoided potential negative impacts to the schedule, cost or final look of the project.

As a result of the IPD contract, we were all on the same team, built consensus and worked out solutions in 3D rather than in the field. Due to the extensive study of the model, the subcontractors were familiar with the space and they had little learning curve during construction.

LEED Platinum Differentiators

A LEED Platinum space, Structure Tone coordinated the construction waste management plan and the indoor air quality (IAQ) plan. An important part of the IAQ plan was the copier room and the model shop. The rooms required specialized ventilation and electrical systems for complete isolation from the rest of the space.
