The Difference is in the Details
Looking to expand, PowerAdvocate enlisted Structure Tone to provide construction management services for their 26,000sf office fit-out and relocation. Located in a historic building, Structure Tone thoroughly explored each area in detail through a due diligence report to help identify any issues associated with the historic nature of the space. Our team discovered that the floors were composed of three layers of material: wood, concrete and terracotta. Prior to the installation of carpet, our team laid plywood throughout the entire space to guarantee a level floor.
Communication & Coordination
Communication is critical especially when other construction is underway in the same building. Structure Tone had weekly meetings with the entire team, including base building contractor. We coordinated delivery of materials through the loading dock, fire alarm testing and approvals, MEP installation and start up. These coordination meetings ensured a smooth construction process.
Structure Tone coordinated with the base building contractor and local authorities for the delivery of a 12,000CFM air handling unit. Due to the size and complexity of this unit, it could not be delivered through the loading dock. Our team removed a window on the first floor for installation. The unit was then delivered in three separate pieces and lifted by crane into the building. Once all parts were secure it was reassembled and tied into the building system.
